about-us

Humble Beginnings

Newborn Covenant Church started online in June 2021 with a group of devoted Jesus Followers. From across Canada, Jamaica, USA, London England and Africa we gathered online for men and women small groups on Wednesdays, Sunday Services and Youth/Young Adult connections on Sunday evenings. With a caring heart we played a vital role as God's hands extended to families and our global eMembers during the pandemic. We knew there was more but in God's perfect timing.

Vital Church Growth

The decision was made; it was time for in-person service. This was a faith walk and fulfilment of prophecy given to Dr. Avril at CN Tower, October 2019. On Mother's Day, May 2023 through the generous support of donors and supporters the doors at 25 Selby Road was open for our first in-person service. In 2023, our first annual Women Elevate Conference with global delegates was hosted, souls saved, youth/young adults baptized and new members added.

The Devoted Church

We know our identity in Christ; we are the devoted Church described in Acts 2:42-47. We are immersed in knowing and preaching Jesus Christ, the Word of the Lord, the unsearchable riches of Christ, and the Kingdom of God, with the aim to win the lost souls for our Lord. With sincere hearts we are immersed in personal and corporate prayer; partaking in communion as Jesus instructed, caring for those in need and fellowshipping with Believers.

what we believe

Statement of Faith

God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit

We believe in one God existing in three distinct persons (Trinity): God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit who is indivisible, co-eternal, co-equal, co-existent in nature, attributes, power and glory. We believe that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is one Spirit. (1 John 5:7 )

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Word of God who became flesh to reveal God the Father to humanity. We believe Jesus Christ shed His blood on the Cross for the redemption of our sins and restoration of our relationship with God the Father. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and the Savior of our world, and in Christ we have abundant life. (John 20:31; Phil. 2:7-8)

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts mankind of sin, and through the word of God and the Holy Spirit they are sanctified to live a life of holiness. The Holy Spirit is the indwelling Spirit of the Father and Son and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, they are glorified and revealed to all believers. (Hebrews 12:24; John 3:24)

jesus is the Way, The Truth and the life

The shed blood of Jesus Christ, death and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation to all who believe, and restores the believers oneness with God. We believe salvation is a free gift from God, not based on our works but the redemptive work done by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith, the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Healed by the Stripes of Jesus

We believe in divine healing by faith in the name and shed blood of Jesus Christ and that provision for healing was included in Redemption. (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24)

Buried in Baptism, Raised to Life

Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it. (Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16)

Baptized into Christ

Jesus Christ is Lord and Head of the Church. Believers are baptized into the Body of Christ and there is only one Body of which there are many members. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Romans 12:4-5)

The Lord's Supper

The ordinance of the Lord's Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ to commemorate His suffering and death: "This do in remembrance of Me". We believe in the regular partaking of communion and remembering what Jesus did on the Cross for us.

The New Covenant is ratified by the Blood of Jesus Christ through which Believers/Followers of Christ share in the blessings of the New Covenant. (1 Corinthians 11:23-31; Luke 22:19-20; Matthew 26:26-28)
