Dr. Avril Riley is the Founder of Newborn Covenant Church, with the unconditional support of her husband, Rufus Riley. She is the President of Help Beyond Borders a non-profit organization dedicated to help alleviate poverty.
A Christian journey that began at the tender age of 8 years old, Dr. Riley re-dedicated her life to Jesus during her early teenage years. In 2011 she settled in Canada, and began serving her community and local Church by hosting annual fundraising galas to provide scholarship for youth/young adults who needed financial support for high school and post-secondary education. Committed to education, she self-funded scholarships in honor of her mother, Zeris Graham.
Dr. Avril has served in the leadership capacity of Minister of Communication and as Board of Director accountable for broadcast media (TV production and internet) within the Church and non-profit organization. In 2015 she was ordained and provided Pastoral leadership for the Online Church and the Youth/Young Adult Ministry, in addition to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ during local services, conferences, and workshops within Canada and USA.
With a heart devoted to being God’s hand extended, in 2018, she sacrificed celebrating her milestone birthday and founded Gift of Hope, an outreach program dedicated to seniors wellness, helping the less fortunate with life essentials, and provided scholarships to youth/young adults pursuing post-secondary education.
In 2019, she responded to the divine call to evangelism to teach the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, healing and salvation around the world. She founded the transformational healing program “Be Made Whole” that blessed souls internationally seeking the divine nature of God.
Dedicated to inspiring and empowering women, Dr. Avril started an international LifeGroup “Women Elevate” (formerly Women at Work), and produced and hosted an online Christian show “Oneword eTalk” to discuss real issues from the perspective of the Word of God.
Dr. Avril’s passion for Knowing Jesus and Sharing Jesus with everyone, everywhere and at anytime, by the power of the Holy Spirit released her into her divine calling as Lead Pastor of Newborn Covenant Church which continues to have a local and global reach. She holds a Masters in Christian Leadership from Chayil Leadership Institute and a Certificate in Preparation for Ministry from Benny Hinn Institute.
She resides in Ontario with her husband, Rufus Riley and mother, Zeris Graham.
Corporately, Dr. Avril has over 20 years as a strategic business and technology leader for Fortune 500 and multinational corporations in diverse industries. Through the many strategic initiatives, she has earned the global reputation of building high performing teams, innovating and solving complex technology and strategic contemporary business challenges.

An entrepreneur at heart, Dr. Avril is the President of Chrysolite Consulting, a leadership consulting firm geared towards business process management leadership coaching and development for small businesses and corporations.
An advocate for leadership excellence, Dr. Avril continues to help professionals develop relevant competencies needed for the contemporary work environment through her leadership development coaching programs.
In 2016, among her many leadership accolades, Dr. Avril was honored by the Diversity Advancement network as a “Black Canadian Role Model”, and in 2019 she was nominated for the prestigious RBC Canadian Entrepreneur Awards presented by Women of Influence.
Author of the transformational book “Big Dreams Don’t Just Happen”, Dr. Avril shares her personal story of leadership failure. An inspirational life story of resilience, courage, and adaptability to successfully rise above adversities.
Dr. Avril believes education opens the door to unlimited opportunities and one never stops learning. She holds a Doctoral Degree in Education (EdD) Leadership Specialization from the University of Calgary; Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Royal Roads University, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Newborn Covenant Church (NCC) was founded in Ontario by Dr. Avril Riley and Minister Rufus Riley in 2021. Prior to this, Dr. Avril served in Pastoral Leadership and Minister Rufus in broadcast media ministry. They continue to be devoted to call of God on their lives through NCC.
